You need a good photo editor . I have photoshop. I bet the less expensive photoshop elements would also do it. Paint shop pro can do it. You need to delete the parts you want to be transparent and save the picture as a gif or png file.

100% transparent image u can get without image itself....
But if u want slightly transparent image, try reducing its OPACITY.
